"elektronihalyk" explores belonging and othering in the dance music scene through a music film featuring Yadikar Ibraimov. Questioning the decisions and motivations behind opaque door policies and "face control" and necessities of subcultural affilications in aesthetic or lifestyle choices. The film depicts a person of no described gender, simultaneously comical and serious, strict and soft, focused and scattered — both an unconventional club-goer at first sight, and perfectly fitting visitor on closer inspection. Using joy and playfullness, this image comments on issues of availability of time, outward identity, extraversion and communication in the club scene. The title is play on the Qazaq words "elektroniqalyq" - "electronic" and "halyq" - "the people". Directed by yourfriendkas. Producer: Aigerim Tanatar. DOP: Nazgul Khalel, Bauyrzhan Sabit.
